The Concours d’ Elegance at Stan Hywet Hall took place September 19-21, 2014.
We sure enjoyed our time at this new event near Akron, Ohio. It’s a lovely venue for a Concours, and Davis Schultz and his staff organized a well-laid out field and an elegant display of fine vehicles. Heacock Classic sponsored morning coffee and donuts for everyone, as well as a private luncheon for the entrants.
Linda Conrad and her staff of the Stan Hywet Hall were great, and the grounds were in full bloom, and the weather cooperated for the entire afternoon, making for a great day for all the entrants.
A few of the highlights for us included an impeccable group of Pierce Arrows, with 2 full classes of worthy entrants.
The CCCA Full Classics were well represented with 4 judged categories, and an exceptional group of Duesenbergs that included the eventual Best In Show Car, the 1931 Model J Tourster by Derham owned by Joseph and Margie Cassini from New Jersey.
Thanks are due to all of the collectors who brought their cars, as well as the artists, sponsors, and benefactors who contributed to this inaugural event. Looks to us like they’ve earned their slot on a crowded Concours calendar.
